Untitled, Crayon Box, found paper, glue and cardboard (10” x 15”) 2008

This project began as an investigation of drawing—and wrappers. After two years of working on detailed drawings in pencil, I wanted to radically alter my process. Rather than draw with pencil on machine made sheets of paper, I pull sheets of paper by hand and then use crayon wrappers and pieces of boxes to create images. As I was working, I began thinking about creating a large piece which would wrap or protect the creative spirit. Ultimately I plan to build a portable studio with the drawings/sheets.
